Croon Sidetech, often referred to simply as CROON, are the manufacturers of the GCTG 222, BK 13, HS 010, Sentries and Kinder Grenades.

CROON is one of the 17 mega-corporations that make up the Consortium. Its focuses include weapons, space infrastructures, psy research, high tech electronics, and interdimensional research. Its most prominent weapons include a number of handguns and submachine guns, as well as equipment such as grenades and automated sentries.
Background[]
CROON was likely founded before 2116, as one of its mining facilities at sector 9 on Mars served as ground zero for the Martian rebellion, wherein the population of the mine was suddenly and inexplicably sent into a blood-crazed frenzy. Armed with weapons and technology completely unknown to the human race, the Martian rebels launched an offensive on Earth that saw two-thirds of humanity perishing before the rebellion was finally put down in 2127 by the newly formed Federation. The origin of the rebellion, commonly referred to as the "Croon incident", was still remembered even centuries later. Perhaps because of this, CROON seems to have an especially negative reputation, with hackers frequently defacing its informational pages with expletives.
CROON seems to harbor a sort of rivalry with fellow manufacturer FKO. Many of FKO's products, including the Sulfatum minigun and Black Crow pistol, were designed specifically to compete with CROON's own designs, and CROON is described as attempting to pressure the Federation to abandon the use of weapons designed by FKO in favor of their own products.
